Who We Are

Develop the athlete.
Build the person.

5G Prime was created to give young athletes a competitive place to grow without losing sight of what the game should teach. Younger teams focus on development and learning how to compete. Older teams move toward showcase-level baseball, higher-level tournaments and preparation for the next stage.

Today, 5G Prime operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving families throughout the Upstate of South Carolina. The organization combines competitive player development with leadership, community involvement and a visible commitment to mental health awareness.

Mental Health Awareness

The logo carries
a bigger purpose.

5G Prime’s story changed after tragedy touched the organization. Today, mental health awareness is not a campaign on the side. It is part of why the organization exists and why every team carries the green ribbon.

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, 5G Prime welcomes community support, partnerships and tax-deductible giving that help create opportunities for baseball and softball players across the Upstate.

Is 5G Prime a nonprofit organization?

Yes. 5G Prime is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Eligible donations support player opportunities, community outreach and our mental health mission.

What age groups does 5G Prime offer?

Our baseball pathway serves 7U through 18U. Softball opportunities are offered at 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U, subject to team availability for each season.

How is a player’s age division determined?

Baseball uses a May 1 age cutoff, while softball uses a September 1 cutoff. Use our Age Verification tool for a recommended division. 5G Prime confirms final eligibility.

How do tryouts and registration work?

Choose Baseball, Softball or National on the Tryouts menu and complete the registration form for that program. Tryout dates, locations and team needs vary by season, and the appropriate coach will follow up with available details.

Can my player play up an age division?

Families may request a play-up division on the registration form. Placement is not automatic and depends on the player’s evaluation, safety, development needs, roster availability and coach approval.

What is the 5G Prime National program?

The National program is for athletes ready for higher-level tournament and showcase opportunities. Players are evaluated for the competitive level, travel expectations and team fit required by the program.

How much does it cost to play?

Player fees and what they include vary by team, age group and season. Families receive current pricing and payment information during the evaluation and team-offer process.

Why is mental health awareness part of 5G Prime?

Mental health awareness is central to our story and mission. Every team carries the green ribbon to help reduce stigma, encourage conversation and remind athletes and families that asking for help is a sign of strength. Read our story or visit our support resources.

Are donations tax-deductible?

5G Prime is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and eligible donations may be tax-deductible as allowed by law. A tax receipt is provided after the donation form is completed. Please consult a tax professional about your individual situation.
